Cassandra’s Angel, written by Gina Otto, will move and delight children from 104. Its heart-melting story and its timely and empowering message will enable children and parents alike to recognize, own, and nurture the special creative gifts each person has brought to share with the world.
Although widely accepted that issues producing low self esteem and alienation take root in childhood, and that recovering one’s authentic self must begin by looking at childhood … there have been virtually no books written for children on this topic. Cassandra’s Angel, a modern day fairy tale, was expressly written to help children learn to identify the negative “stories” that they receive and to drop those “stories” so that they can become who they came here to be.
Come follow Cassandra as she goes through the process that we all go through when we are identifying the underlying ‘stories’ of our lives. Often, after many challenges, we go to ‘the rock,’ ‘sit all alone,’ and wait for personal revelation or divine inspiration to occur. For Cassandra, it is a meeting with an Angel who reveals that Cassandra has a great secret within.
For the child, Cassandra’s Angel provides a tool to expose hurtful stories for what they are and teaches that other people’s opinions about us are not necessarily the truth.
Remarkably, Cassandra’s Angel has moved many adult readers to release the false stories they have carried since childhood. Most importantly, it teaches adults to bring care and consciousness to how they talk to children, and to distinguish between what a child does and who a child is.
Cassandra's Angel will spark the inner wisdom of children, so that they can be true to themselves and know which messages to hold and which to let go. This tool of discernment is a gift that will be useful throughout their lives – a gift that will allow them to create their own beautiful Life Story.
An author, poet and photographer, Gina Otto has worked in film production,
advertising, and the fashion industry for the past fifteen years. In 1995,
she began speaking to groups of teenage girls about the importance of self-perception
and how it is affected by popular culture.
An award-winning, best-selling author, producer and children’s advocate, Gina Otto, is creating a global movement of girls helping girls around the world. Her first book, Cassandra's Angel, integrates her passion for the healing arts with her concern for young people.
“Children are impacted moment to moment with exterior stimulus from the media, their parents, their teachers and their peers.” says Otto, "My hope is to give them a message that they are each inherently a bright light for the world. Perhaps this will spark a recognition that there is a truth within them that is greater than the individual and collective fictions bombarding them from a popular culture which is out of control."
With a focus on education and awareness, Gina travels throughout the United States and the world helping children, parents and teachers examine how “the way we live our lives and the choices that we make” impact society as a whole. Above all, Gina believes that getting and keeping young girls in school within the developing world will have a positive transformative impact globally.
A portion of Gina’s royalties are donated to organizations
helping to provide a better world for our children.
